In case you haven't noticed, the 5th anniversary of 9/11 is almost upon us and everyone is cashing in on it ... especially the White House. ABC is doing their part to.
ABC, owned by Disney, is set to air a new miniseries called "The Path to 9/11" on Sunday, September 10th which supposedly blames the Clinton Administration for some early mishaps which directly led to the WTC attacks. I say 'supposedly' because no one has seen it yet. Well - except for people involved in the production and right wing talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh who were given advance copies.
"For dramatic and narrative purposes, the movie contains fictionalized scenes, composite and representative characters and dialogue, and time compression," says ABC. They're also saying that the miniseries is a 'dramatization' of the 9/11 Commission Report.
So it's fiction, right?
I tend to believe that everything on TV - including the 'news' - is fiction. But to blend the facts of the 9/11 Commission Report with speculation about mistakes made by the Clinton Administration is incredibly irresponsible.
Smells like Republican bullshit. Tastes like Republican bullshit. It IS Republican bullshit!
The real scary part about this whole thing is that ABC had hired Scholastic to distribute copies of the movie along with study guides to high school teachers all over the country. They obviously believe that the miniseries is much more than a 'dramatization' and side with the Republican Party and the Bush Administration.
Gosh. That darn liberal media is at it again!
Luckily, Scholastic has come to it's senses and stepped away from their part of the deal.
Clinton is pissed and he's called for miniseries to either be corrected or pulled. The liberal blogs are going nuts asking for readers to write Disney and ABC.
Personally, I'm going to discontinue the use of my Disneyland Annual Pass and boycott everything Disney and ABC until this miniseries is pulled...and I urge everyone else to do the same.
